PROMOTING OUR MOVIE

Hello, today Candela and me have different ideas of how we are going to promote our movie.



We have been thinking about create an instagram account for our movie, just to promote it.
Also we have been thinking that the majority of users in instagram are between 10-25 years old, so to promote our film at people of 25+, we also think about creating a Facebook account, to get more audience.



Another thing we just think about, of how we are going to promote our film, is making T-shirts.
This is a great idea because people when see the T-shirts on the street, can cause intrigue to them, so this makes people want to watch it. We would like that in the t-shirt, would appear the name of the film "The Scream".  This maybe will not be created, because making t-shirts, also cost money so, we prefer to promote our film in another things.











Our final method of promoting our film, we would like to make posters, and paste them in lot of different parts of the street, so people then, can get interested in the film, and the film could have more audience.

RESEARCH ON FILM PROMOTION

Film promotion is the practice of promotion specifically in the film industry, and usually occurs in coordination with the process of film distribution. Sometimes called the press junket or film junket, film promotion generally includes press releases, advertising campaigns, merchandising, franchising, media and interviews with the key people involved with the making of the film, like actors and directors.

FILM TRAILER : Is an advertisement or a commercial for a feature film that will be exhibited in the future at a cinema, the result of creative and technical work. The term "trailer" comes from their having originally been shown at the end of a feature film screening.

The trailer helps to promote the film, causing intrigue to the audience, tending them to watch the film.

A trailer example is of The Hobbit film :

Making POSTERS:

There are variety of ways to communicate with the target market, but one of the most beneficial is by using large posters that can clearly display your message. When used correctly, posters can catch the eyes of people and make them aware of a product or service that they wouldn't otherwise have known about.

The ADVANTAGES of using posters to promote a film:

CHEAPER COSTS: Creating and distributing posters is a much cheaper form of advertising than radio or print. The process is much simpler , only involving a few people and a printing service. A poster can go from the concept stages all the way through to finalization in a matter of days, meaning you can begin your promotional work much quicker.

EASILY VISIBLE: You can target specific locations with your posters to increase brand visibility in that area. With poster promotion you can bombard people with imagery, making sure what they see will stick in their heads for longer. Don't be afraid of scaring people away, you want your great posters to be viewed by as many people as possible.

ENCOURAGE AN ACTIVE RESPONSE: If you get someone to look at your poster then they are engaging with their surroundings. It could be that they are walking through the area, or that they are bored at a bus stop, but once you have their attention you can use a good call to action and encourage them to respond.

SOCIAL NETWORKING: 

Films are about bringing people together and sharing ideas. We watch trailers, connect with our social circles, and then share the cinematic experience. Before the advent of social media, word of mouth was the only true method of accomplishing this - aided in part by previews and ads in periodicals.

Television and the internet expanded that reach to homes across the globe. The most recent permutation can be found in modern "social media". Facebook, Twitter, and the mobile phones they are accessed from all play an important role. Millions are connected and seemingly immediately accessible. Social networks are an excellent location to build awareness and promote a film.

PRELIMINARY TASK

Hello bloggers! Today we have been editing our film. Here is our pronominal task.

EDITING EXPERIENCE

Hello bloggers! After spending three days of filming, now is the time for editing!
Our editing experience it was so fun but, at the same time it was a bit difficult because we have to concorde the music with different scene times, and also we have to be cutting scenes for making it more smaller to be nearer than 2 minutes, so it was a bit difficult but also very fun.

We used my computer, a macbook Pro. We also used our mobile phones too, for then it was more quickly because Candela was searching the music at the mobile and me meanwhile I was editing and cutting the videos. First we passed the videos an photos to the computer and then we used a program called "iMovie" for editing our video. We downloaded different scary sounds and music, and also a music for the running scene. Then we join everything at this program, and then we start working at it.

We learn too much about editing videos, it was fun!

3RD DAY FILMING

At the third day filming, it was already too cold for film, but it was a nice weather according to the filming so it was great. At a low key lighting it seems being more terrific than a high key lighting, so I repeat, it was great according to the film. At this day, we recorded the last part of the film, where we can see how the actress (me), saw the ghost inside the house. The character of the ghost, it was Miryam, a friend of us. She took a blank big sheet tunic, for her costume, and some dark make up for her face, Candela and me help her for painting her face. In change, me, the actress that appears running, I didn't use any make up, I used a sport costume, according to the film, at the top, I used a sweatshirt, but sometimes I was hot, because I had to recorded much of times running so I was doing sport actually.

I had to say that this day was the most difficult for filming, because we have also to wait at sunset, so the film seems more terrific, and also I had to be serious because I had to look like I am scared so, there are many outtakes of me laughing.

2ND DAY FILMING

Good morning, for our second day filming, we can analyze the weather a bit cold, but it was great to film because at the same time, it was sunny so, it seems like a terrific weather, where it changes for hot to cold, and from cloudy to sunny. We recorded the actress running at different parts of the location. Here are some pictures:

PRACTICAL TASK

OMG! How interest is making and editing movies !!!
Last week I spend some days in Switzerland, in a village called Samnaun, because i like skiing, and I spend one time a year in this place for practicing. So, my teacher told me as a practice task I could make a video of me skiing. I had a go pro camera with me, so I record some videos on the mountains. When I came back to Spain, I started editing my video. I used iMovie for editing. Here is my final result!!

STORY BOARD

Today, we have been doing the storyboard of our beginning of the film opening. At the beginning, we had really serious problems when we started designing because we change a lot the scenes of our movie, but we finished.

Hi people! Today in class have been doing a research of the props we are going to use, and also the costumes and make-up, we are going to be using in our film production.

SOUND

Hello bloggers! Today we are researching the music we want to put to our film.

It was a bit difficult because, we cannot repeat most famous scary music, but there is a lot of types of terror music we can choose.

For the jogging scenes, it is true that, we choosed a very popular song. But for the rest, we wanted to choose a not popular terror song, to not be very repetitive with other films.

One of the terror music we choosed, is these one:
We take the part that we want of this song, and we edited it to put it of the form more correct according to our film.

The music that we choosed to the running scenes is called "Hideway" of Kiesza, is a very popular song, but we thought that is one of the best songs that could be accorded to our film.

The "Background" music is a mixed between the terror and the "Hideway" one, because it is not only terror music for all the film.

The "Diegetic" sound of our film, can be when "Sofia", says at one of the last scenes "Is there anybody?"
The "Non-Diegetic" sound, can be also the background music of the film, that what I just said before, can be de Hideway sound, or the terror one.

The "Sound motif" of the film, is for example the "Hideway" song, because these song, we think is associated with Blancas character when its jogging.

I have to say that in our film, is not any "Direct Adress" because any actor is speaker directly to the camera. Also any "Voice Over" is happening because any dialogue is occurring, by an unseen character.
According to "Dialogue", is also anyone in this film, because there is no conversation.

SHOT LIST

Hello people! Today in class, we are discussing about what type of shots, there will be in our film.
Also, we have already some ideas about this.

The abandoned house shots;

1. The first scene we want to make, is an "establishing shot", to show and make you an idea of the location of our film.
2. There are also "hand-held" movements of this location in the first scenes, and also we want to make pan movements of the house.

 Blanca´s (sofia) Shots:

1. The first scenes, after the "establishing shots" of the abandoned house, it will appear these character in a "mid shot", opening the door of her house, to go running. 
2. After these, we want to show you a "long shot", of Blancas character, it will appears some props of the film, for example her headphones and phone.
3. Then, Sofia will be jogging, so it will be lot of "action match" in which there will be the majority "long shots"
4. In one of the scene she appears falling down. After these occurs, it appears a "close-up" or "mid shot", with a "crane movement" upwards.
5. After these, we can see that the character wants to see the abandoned house, which would be a "eyeline match" of what Sofia is watching. Just before these, it will be an "Over the shoulder shot" showing also, what Sofia is seeing. 
6. Then there is also a "pan movement" to the left following Sofia, and also a "zoom movement" showing where Sofia is going. 

Shots in house/going towards the house:

1. One of the first shots, it will appear a "jump cut" of Sofia walking towards the house but also I have to say again, that it also appears a "zoom movement" showing these character walking to the house.
2. The following shot is a "Mid shot" of Sofia from the perspective inside the house-
3. Also just before this scene, it will appear a "Two shot"showing the two characters of the film.(Inside the house)
4. Finally it will appear a "Mid shot", with Sofia´s face, looking to the other character of the film.

LIGHTING

Hello bloggers! today in class have been searching about the type of lighting that normally have a horror movie, here is my research, and also I will explain what type of lighting we want for our film.


HORROR FILM LIGHTING:

In a horror film, the first thing it need to get that scary atmosphere is darkness.
For horror lighting, you want harsh, violent lighting that can create thick shadows.
The use of lighting is an effective way of creating the mood/atmosphere within a scene as it can have further meaning dependent on its use. Fo example. "Chiaroscuro" lighting has been most commonly used during which the horror figure is first presented in the scene as it portrays ideas of isolation and fear as the face is not completely shown when such lighting is used. Such features can be combined with other forms of lighting such as low/high key lighting.


The lighting we want to use in our film, can be define as "Low key lighting", but the problem is, we have to record the shots at the day, at 4pm or 5pm, because we don't have all the profesional equipment we need, to be recording at the night, for example, when Blancas character is jogging. Obviously, we would put some effects in "iMovie" to get a more scary ambient to the film.

LOCATION

Hi bloggers! today in class, Candela and me, have been discussing about the place we are going to choose.

We would like that our film could be an abandoned house, because we think that is going to be the perfect place of filming a horror film.

It was not difficult to look for a scary place for filming, because near to my house, in Sanlucar de Barrameda there is an abandoned house, were next to it, there is a road for cars, so I can be running at outside the scary house.

MIRYAM CLIMENT :

We choose Miryam to be the secondary character of our film, because we think she is good as been as an actress and she also like the idea of acting as the film "monster" in our film. She is the secondary character in the film, this means she is not going to appear to much, she like this idea because she is sometimes very shy at filming.

BLANCA ESPEJO:

Well, "Blanca Espejo" its me. I like too much acting, so I think that my film acting is going to be perfect! Also my favorites films are horror films, so that is an advantage for me, to express my acting in another films that I have already watched. I am the main actor of the film, so I am going to appear if its not all, is the majority of the time in the film. Another thing that I am good at, is getting into the character, so I think is going to be a perfect film production.

CREATING OUR LOGO

Good afternoon! Today, Candela and me, had been making our logo. It was a good experience because we learned to create logos and lot of this staff. Also we choosed the one who highlight and also we liked more of the one I drew. We edit this logo, by Candelas computer.
