ANALYSIS OF BREAKING BAD

Hello, today my class and me, we have chosen to analyse the part of the film : Breaking Bad "Stay out of my territory" Full Scene.

Breaking Bad is an American crime drama television series created and produced by Vince Gilligan.
It tells the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. Together with his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), White turns to a life of crime, producing and selling crystallized methamphetamine to secure his familys financial future before he dies, while navigating the dangers of the criminal world.

CAMERA SHOTS:

We can see that in the first part of the video it shows an establishing shot, it shows the location of the scene, it is a supermarket. Also, we can see that it is taken from a low angle. There is an example in the minute 0:15 seconds, of a close-up, in this video, we can see lots of close-up showing into the man. When he gets the paint, we can see how he stops, and it is a long shot. We also can see an extreme long shot at the minute 2:11 to 2:30 because we can see the man going out to another location and also shows the old location of the scene.

CAMERA ANGLES:

After analyzing some of the camera shots, Im going to focus on the camera angles of the scene.
We can see that the camera looks up, when it goes around 1 minute, showing the two mans talking. Around the minute 2:24 to minute 2:55 the scene shows how the man have preponderance in the scene.



CAMERA MOVEMENTS:

I will also talk about the camera movements, because, we can also see camera movements in this video. At the minute 0:30 seconds we can see how a track movement is happening. The camera is following the person acting. Also we can add that in the minute 2:31 to minute 2:38 it is another track movement different from the first one, because we can see how first, the man is following the camera and the how the camera walks at the man. After the establishing shot I talked about at the first of the scene, it is occurring a pan movement, which rotates from the milks to the man.

EDITING:

In the scene we can see in the minute 1:07 to 1:40 there is a shot/ reverse shot when the man is talking with the other man. We can see also a inside the editing techniques, there is also a cutting process, where at the beginning of the video, it shows the location, and then pass cutting through the milk boxes. Also it is a line match at the minute 0:40 to 0:44, what shows the man looking at the inside of the shopping cart and it is a cutting in this moment, to show the things inside the cart.
There is an action match showing different angles of the scene in the minute 0:37 to 0:46.

SOUND:

The first sound we can analyze it is a diegetic sound, we can see this from the minute 1:02 to the minute 1:40 how a dialogue is happening between the two mans. In this scene we can also found a non-diegetic sound when the man is taking the milk from the supermarket an it is a music at the background. Also we can introduce that at the minute 2:04 to the end of the scene it is also a non-diegetic sound in the scene. At the ending of the video we can can see the conflict is happening between the man showing superiority and the other people, the scene it is consistent to the music is sounding, so it is also a sound motif. We can see Dialogue too, in the minute  0:47 to 1:42 it is an example of it. Also there are voice overs in the supermarket at the people inside while the scene is happening. Also there are background noises, there are these noises of these at the scene, an example at the beginning like the supermarket and also in the parking at the first is another example.

MISE-EN-SCENE:

Again, we can see the location of the scene, it is in a supermarket, and how the setting is design, like a parking, and lots of things for buying inside the super market. The actors, are wearing confortable clothes and like as if it were winter, but one the enemys wears clothe of sleeve short to appear more strong and cause more impact at the spectator.
