ANALYZE OF "THE WALKING DEAD"

Hello, today in class we have to choose between any american TV serie that we want, to analyze a scene that we like, so I chose "The walking dead".

"The walking dead" is an American horror drama television series developed by Frank darabont, based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Allard.

CAMERA SHOTS:
Firstly in the introduction of the scene, we can see how the characters are acting, they show at the spectator, that they are overwhelmed. We can see an establishing shot since the scene start, because it shows the location, it is like a forest with a house in it. Also we can see that there are lots of master shots in this scene, because for example we can see many different objects like guns, that makes the viewer believe that is a shooting scene and also we can see different people inside these scene.
Also I can add that we can find also mid shots in the scene, an example of it it is when the man is with the zombies around the beginning, at the minute 0:18 - 0:20. I can add that there is also an over the shoulder shot, when at the minute 1:05/1:08 the man is shooting the zombie.
We can see a point of view shot, when for example at the beginning of the scene around the minute 0:01 to the minute 0:06 the black man is watching the people with the zombies, and the camera turns to see whats the black man watching. Between this minutes we can cut that in the minute 0:01 to the minute 0:02, it shows a close up shot that show us the distress that the character is showing at what appears to be looking at.

CAMERA ANGLES:
We can see, that in the minute 1:28 to minute 1:32 there is occurring a high angle, when the man standing is pointing the other man on knees. Also at the minute 1:37 at 1:38 the camera is pointing more or less up, so we can say that it is occurring a low angle in that point of the scene. Also we can analyze that at the beginning of the scene, at the minute 0:03 to 0:06 it is occurring a mid angle because we can see the distance between the different characters of the scene.

CAMERA MOVEMENTS:
Also I will talk about camera movements in this scene, because there are lots of camera movements inside it. At the introduction of the scene in the minute 0:07 to the minute 0:11 we can see a "Track movement" showing the person following the camera, also, we can see another example of "Track", when at the minute 0:13 to 0:20 the camera is following the person and the two zombies.
At the minute 0:30 to the minute 0:33 we can see a "Pan movement" showing the camera looking and moving side to side, that, at these example is moving to the right place. I can add that at the minute 1:15/1:18 there is happening a "Slow motion" in the scene, when the man shoots the zombie, and the camera starts to look slowly recording.
Also we can see another example of "Tilt movement" at the minute 1:28 to 1:32, again, when the man is pointing the other man on knees, because the camera moves up and down, not too much time, but it is a little movement in that moment of the scene.

EDITING:
We can see lots example of "Cutting" in this scene, for example at the minute 0:21/0:23 in that little seconds, we can see that the camera cuts one shot and replaced with another in the same place but showing other characters of the scene. Also there is a clear "Eyeline match" when at the minute 0:01/0:04 the black man is looking at the people with the zombies. Also there is lots of "Action match" like "Cuttings", an example of "Action match" in this scene at the minute 0:55/0:59, when the camera is pointing the man and zombie, and then, the camera turns to focus more near the zombie.

SOUND:
There are lots of dialogues, even if it shouting, but we can say the an example of "Diegetic sound" it is at the minute 0:22/0:50 when the man go at the zombies and start shouting to the mans who carried the zombies and the two of them starts shouting between them. We can say that there are many words spoken by actors, so there are also "Dialogues" in these scene.
We can see an example of "Non - diegetic" sound at the minute 1:15 until the end of the scene, because there is background music since the man shoots the zombie.

MISE-EN-SCENE:
We can see the "Location" of the scene, it is like a forest or countryside, with a house also in it. "The setting" is design with lots of guns and dangerous objects that can kill human people and also zombies, and again, we can see the location there is according to what is happening in the scene.
"The costume" of the scene, we can see it in the different characters that are found. the characters or actors, are wearing confortable, and field clothes, and it looks being not winter, because they are wearing short t-shirts and clothes. The "Props" of the scene can be the guns, and other specialized objects it shows the scene, that can killed any one.
